Death Spiral Continues

An alert reader reports that, in news even more revolting than the usual excrement flowing out of Channel Sux, weekend anchor Jaime McCutcheon was escorted from the building on Wednesday after being notified that her contract was not being renewed.

If the station has truly dumped McCutcheon, one of the few talented on-air personalities left at the station, that brings to approximately a half-dozen the number of departures in recent months. Even though most of those exits involved folks we won't miss, that kind of turnover usually suggests deteriorating morale, which isn't good if you're already nearly bankrupt when it comes to talent and creativity.

We continue to marvel Channel Sux's uncanny knack for letting the wrong people get away while retaining the shoddy services of folks like John Knicely, Jimmy Siedlecki, John Chapman, and Gary Smollen. If TV station managers could be prosecuted for serial ineptitude, the nitwits running WOWT would be locked up even longer than whoever's in charge at KPTM.

Odd...her picture was the only one that didn't paint when I visited their site, but you could still get to the bio behind it with her photo.

She's one of the few capable people they've got. If they did move her out the door, you're right, that would indicate there's little hope for that place, unless it was for some cause other than not renewing her contract. Even if she was stealing the toilet paper, a talent desert like WOWT should do everything they could to make allowances!

She's gone - photo/bio was up this morning but it's gone now. Way to prove your idiocy, Sux.

No big surprise. As a one time quality employee of SUX...this is generally the way they do business. Good luck Jaime...if past people who have gone through grinder are any indication, you will do much better...

Yup, no picture. There were at least 6 or 7 people who should have been gone before her. Bad call Sux.

I can’t wait to see who they’ll be putting on the Friday/Saturday newscasts. Will it be librarian Jodi Baker or will it be Ann McIntire, who, God help me, actually makes me long for Mallory Maddox when I see her anchoring a newscast?

By the way, who was the dolt doing the Saturday morning news on WOWT last weekend? Dude was terrible. It was like they found a malfunctioning android and plopped him down in front of the camera.

Still, all of the above are better than Siedlecki. If I ran a TV station, I wouldn’t even let him anchor my boat. The only guess I can make about why they keep him on is that he works for free.

Let them die.

Best of luck to Jamie as she was the only reason I would even tune in to them anymore (outside of entertainment purposes of course!).

Here is her resume for those of you who want to hire someone with talent:

She must've argued with them over a point of journalism, something the station management in that circus is ill-equipped to discuss.

So in keeping with their philosophy, I guess it won't be long before Caitlin, Andrea, Rusty, and Mike McKnight are shown the door.

The management of WOWT must have their heads up there for the warmth.

I actually was interviewed by her for the story on Netflix changing one of their streaming features. Very nice person to speak with and be interviewed by. She will definitely be missed.

Why do you continue to disappoint us WOWT? She was definitely one of the better qualified. Too bad. Hope she lands on her feet. In the meantime...Siedlecki continues to ramble on in an annoying fashion.
