Out

Just back from a couple of weeks of travel. Turned on the end of the SuxNews 10 p.m. Sunday news just in time to see J-Pa Knicely drag out the nightly gigglefest so long that he was cut off in mid-sentence.

That was followed by about 20 minutes of dead air. Actually, it was 3 minutes of black screen, 15 seconds showing only a photocopier, and the remaining time filled with silence and the station logo.

It's great to be back!

So you missed the back to school segment? It featured interviews of people buying tissues and glue.

So, which is worse? The Gigglefest or dead air? Tough choice, huh? :)

Hey dead air can be fun to watch if you have a few of my brownies.

Not sure if she does radio ads on other stations, but Veronica Todd (or whatever her real last name is - the former traffic girl on KETV) seems to do a good number of spots on ESPN 1620.

Good God! She has the worst Valley Girl voice, ever! It amazes me how she can take simple words and make them sound completely twisted.

Wxnow 7.2 will become similar to the weather channel in the fall. Expect more local syndicated programming (Dr Oz, The Doctors, etc), repeated newcasts and movies to be added in the daily lineup. Some of this has already begun.

I'm guessing KETV is looking to boost ratings on the channel for advertising sales.

Sorry Brian.....Veronica Todd does not do radio spots on ESPN or any other radion stations and has not it over 2 years....you got the wrong valley girl fer sure!

I keep noticing that the Action 3 News weatherguys use graphics from accuweather.com. I also saw that KETV Wx now said that it was clear in Omaha last night, when in fact my neigbor's house was hit my lightning during a raging storm. Can someone explain Wx now to me? Is it totally automated, or does a human at least check to see that Elkhorn (Omaha) and Omaha (Omaha) have wildly different forecasts?

I just watched sports on sux news and they showed us a clip from Tigert Stadium. That's right, apparently it's Tigert instead of Tigers from the folks down at the station.

Unless they were showing a video from prior to 1999 the Detroit Tigers play at Comerica Park. The old stadium was in fact Tiger Stadium. The fact that WOWT is totally and completely ignorant as well as without a spell checker comes as no surprise.

Can I rail a bit about how ridiculous journalism has become in this city. Both WOWT and KETV had articles today on their websites and/or webchannels about two dead bodies found in a home near Lake Cunningham.

BOTH stations listed the exact address of the homes where the bodies were found and then had the nerve to say, "Names have not been released pending notification of relatives"

Unless there are about 200 people living in that house, I don't think it would be much of a stretch for a loved one of a victim to figure out that they've just read on the internet that their loved one was dead with by a shooting.

Classy!

At least KMTV was a little less specific, saying the block in which the shootings happened.

Quick question...have Devon Patton and Keri Stowell been given the boot at KM3? They're no longer on the KM3 website and Dave Roberts has been anchoring the Satruday night newscast. Also...is Brian Latham still with Channel 6? He's been gone two weekends in a row from the weekend morning cast. Anyone? Anyone?

Did anyone catch Traci Madden possibly inventing the word schedulized during the 10:00 newscast tonight (Aug 30th)?

Op Seng does this answer your question about Stowell?

Looks like Latham went to INN.

Devon moved to KY to anchor for WLEX

Kerri is now the traffic reporter at KMBC in Kansas City

Not Sure about Brian.
