I had to laugh out loud at the 5-10 inches one at Channel Six.

Perhaps they should cover their bases *completely* and say something like "between a dusting and 20 inches"

Ahhh, yes, once again it is time for the beloved local weather-guesser's snowfall lottery game. It may be a dusting...it may be a repeat of the "blizzard of '75"...or it just might actually be ARMEGEDDON!!!!! Folks...you had better rush right out the door NOW...while you still have time to stock-up on the essentials of daily sustenance! OH MY!!! THE HUMANITY!!! Stop it already. I'm surprised the local dolts in the marketing departments of 3rd, Sux, and Seven-tenths don't sell the grocery stores advertising DURING the weather "forecasts" of said stations. Let's call it what it really is: a grocery store storm. Does anyone want to make a guess at the real amount of snow we will receive? Chances are that by Thursday night, the "forecast" calls for much less than originally called for. Brilliant. The over-hyped so-called "snow event" every winter is about as predictable as the "potholes are gettin' bad" story every spring.

Woop. Wait. Now its 4-7 inches. By tomorrow morning it will be 1-2 inches. Must be those confounded computer models screwing things up again.

I think they (and I mean all the channels) either need to buy some anti-virus software or they need to quit trying to predict snow so far ahead because they just keep on making themselves look foolish.

ARMEGEDDON II, Let's see, back in mid-December they said 6-8 inches and we had 2.1 inches....schools closed, stores packed. Today, we are supposed to have 6-8 inches and schools are already closed without one flake! Have you seen the piles of salt on the dry pavement out there? Can we send our rust repair bills to Jim and the team? BTW, two weather ejacucasters on channel sux...trying to keep up with third?

Oh how I love the webchannel. Right now they have a story boasting "as predicted snow is falling in the metro". Of course the next sentence in the paragraph lets us know the snow will "tapper" off by 6:00. God love 'em

On the afternoon 'cast, I liked how Jim S. said that the Elkhorn wrestling team had to travel "all the way across the state" for district wrestling this weekend....in Grand Island.

Did anyone see KETV at 4 on Friday afternoon? I know we aren't supposed to make fun of channel 7 on here, but that "Road Patrol" thing was lame.

Scott Buer is wandering around the outskirts of Council Bluffs with a camera in the window of a car "reporting" the road conditions.

When they came back in the studio Rob McCartney reassured us that he was indeed in the "right-hand seat" and not driving like he himself reported....

Because Rob McCartney would certainly know better than Scott whether or not Scott is driving around Council Bluffs in this "dangerous" weather....

I am not kidding about this, channel six news at 4 had a guy showing us how to scoop snow...

Scott Buer reports that the streets are..."problematical"...Really?

Oh how the webchannel tickles me. Here's the lead sentence into a story about garbage collection:

"Snow puts a halt to Omaha's solid waste collection Friday. Collections to resume Saturday morning"

If the city of Omaha has been collecting non-solid waste on trash day...I really don't want to know where this is happening
