It was another splendid weekend for Channel Sux "Weather Authority" Ejacucasters.

Despite Chief Guesser Jim Flowers' Saturday morning promise of a Sunday morning "festive snow," Omahans woke up to sunny skies and nary a hint of precipitation. Good to see the ol' hair-trigger is still functioning.

On Saturday night, we thought for a minute that maybe Jim's chief deputy, Andrea Rich, was horsing around in proclaiming that we had experienced a "maybe once a year" phenomenon when the temperature Saturday morning had been higher than it was later in the day.

If love means never having to say you're sorry, then being a Channel Sux ejacucaster must mean never having to say you know what you're talking about.

I was hoping this year that the weatherguessers would not sensationalize the storms, particularly the first (impending?) storm of the year. They're at it already! :( Oh well, maybe next year.

Actually I’ve developed a formula for interpreting the weather guessers forecasting abilities:

(A – B) x .5 = C

A = The number of inches they have predicted
B = The number of days until the snow event is predicted to strike.

C will be the actual snowfall we see

For example, on Saturday, when they predict 6 inches for Monday night:
(6 – 2) x .5 = 2 inches of actual snow.

Exception being if you are dealing with the wonderful WOWT Weather Authority. Then you need to multiply “C” once more by .5 to get the true number.

Jim Flowers repeatedly forgets to put the third temperature value in on his forecasrs for towns. This is shown on the bottom of the screen, and is intended for the next day. I notice almost every Sunday he fails to do this.
