Another Opening, Another Show

KETV is now advertising for a general assignment reporter. If we'll all just wait a few minutes, Sean Weide will tell us if this is a newly-created position or a replacement for someone who's leaving.

Yes, we're hoping it's a sign that Fubar Fazal is leaving. But what are the chances she'd willingly give up a gig in which she's allowed unlimited on-air incompetence? Not even she is that dumb.

The geniuses at Newsbotch 7 need a new assignment editor, as much as they need another reporter. I spoon-fed them an official press release from a police chief about an armed robbery that happened within 40 miles of their studio last Friday night. What did they go with on Saturday morning? 2 hard news stories recycled from the night before, some more Husker-pumpin BS, and a lot of fluff. These people are making KXVO's newsblast look like Pulitzer quality work! Passing on my robbery story offering reminded me of that scene in "Good Morning, Viet Nam" where all the news had to go past the twin goons before it could go to air. Pathetic!

An armed robbery in Treynor IA...can't believe that didn't make the lead. The other 27 armed robberies with in 3 miles of the station must not have made it either.

And doesn't Dipstick Jimmy know the difference between a station and a network? This guy seems to think he's an expert on everything, when he's really just one more example of a Channel 6 anchor who doesn't know much more than anybody else with an eighth grade education does. He's insufferable. How long 'til he gets his speech-impeded ass out of here?

I would not rely on those job postings listed at KETV.com. Those have been there for months. KETV is not currently looking for a reporter.
