Friday Night Frights

Gee whillikers. There was no safe haven on Friday at 10 p.m. if you wanted to watch local news.

Of course at 3, everything was fine until they decided to soil the screen with the sound and image of Mr. Travis Justice, but the station's regular viewers have likely become numb to this nightly assault on the senses.

On Channel 7, Todd Andrews, looking way too much like Phil Hartman's "Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer," was anchoring in place of Rob McCartney. The guy sounds great, but the 70s part-down-the-middle hairstyle combined with an overly prominent brow make him a hard anchor to watch.

And over at Channel 6, it was sub night, with Paul "The Human Yawn" Baltes and Sheila "Scary Eyes" Brummer sitting in the seats normally occupied by John Knicely and Tracy Madden. Brummer had trouble figuring out what she was reading, which camera to look at, and then she stepped all over Baltes by reading her weather intro too early. She reminds us a lot more of Pat Persaud than we'd like. That means she'll probably be here forever. Heaven help us.

Too funny- that is Todd Andrews exactly. It is distracting. You are forgetting that some of us bored lonely girls like that "Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer" look, and want to tame his tresses

Todd looks like Waldo from the Van Halen "Hot for Teacher" video.

You left out Elizabeth "Terri Schiavo" Merriman on Fox 42 weekend weather. I say that because she looks like her. Can't 42 get a cosmetology student to work with these people?

Why hasn't anyone mention Todd's lazy eye. I cannot stand watching hime because I do not know where he is looking!

Is it just me or would Travis be at least a little less annoying if Channel 3 would buy him a bottle of nose spray? Never mind, he'd be just as annoying.

We've alluded to Trav's nasal congestion before. It somewhat reminds me of Jimmy Fallon's impression of Pat O'Brien, but taken to the 14th power.

And you're right, he would be just as annoying. We particularly yucked it up last night when he was holding forth on whether Harriet Miers is qualified to be a Supreme Court justice.

He's such a tool that he probably thinks his last name qualifies him.

Elizabeth is totally cute in person. You couldn't pay me enough to subject myself to that chnl 42 lighting. Um, I hope that comment doesn't come back to haunt me someday.

I saw Brummer in public. Pretty hot. She is much taller that I thought she was. Still, she's no Courtny Gerrish
