Since When Do Anchors Take Days Off During Sweeps?

Just when we were ready to propose a "Free John Oakey" campaign to get the KETV anchor released from his obnoxious co-anchor, Elictia Hammond, the gods gave us a respite Monday morning. The Omarosa lookalike was nowhere to be found, leaving Oakey to deliver the news to us without her shrill babble sending viewers scrambling for their remotes. If Channel 6 had the wherewithal, it would have been wise to steal Oakey away from Channel 7 and pair him Malorie Maddox. Non-compete clauses or no, it would have been worth the wait.

I always thought ratings was a time when the only excuse for missing work is death or strapped down to a hospital bed. At least that's what I have been told. This ratings period however has changed my mind. It's not such a bad thing for certain people to miss work.
P.S.
Oakey is a bright shining light in Omaha news, But he does smell funny.
